On 29 July, BIM Solutions Georgia, in partnership with Autodesk, hosted an exclusive business meeting at the Sheraton Grand Tbilisi Metechi Palace — the FORMA Business Meeting for Development Executives.
The event brought together specially invited guests from the development, project management, supervision and financial sectors. Its purpose was to create a practical discussion around how project owners and management teams can improve the control of project information, changes, coordination and construction processes through BIM and Autodesk digital solutions.
Modern development projects involve architects, structural engineers, MEP engineers, project managers, supervisors, general contractors and subcontractors working simultaneously. As projects become more complex, the risks of using outdated information, delayed communication, unclear responsibilities and lost changes increase significantly.
The event’s central message addressed exactly this challenge: change is inevitable in every project, but it can be managed within one structured, transparent and connected digital environment.
The meeting was opened by Mariam Kutateladze, Managing Partner of BIM Solutions Georgia, who highlighted the importance of project control, reliable information and traceable decision-making for developers.
Aleksandr Shipilov, Autodesk Solutions Expert at MUK Group, presented the key steps of BIM implementation — from defining objectives and developing data and process requirements to selecting the right technologies and managing organisational change. A central point of the presentation was that successful BIM implementation is not limited to purchasing software. Project roles, responsibilities, information exchange rules and expected deliverables must also be clearly defined.

The session demonstrated how compatible tools enable different project disciplines to work in a coordinated way, improve information quality and identify potential risks before construction begins.

Vytautas Puodziunas, CEO of BIM Solutions Georgia, discussed the role of Autodesk Build during the construction phase. The presentation covered the management of drawings, issues, RFIs, submittals, responsibilities and deadlines. The key idea was that project owners do not need to manage every technical operation directly, but they should have access to accurate and timely information about project status, risks and unresolved issues.
The presentations were followed by a panel discussion on the responsibilities of the project owner, project management company, BIM team, designers and contractors. Participants discussed when BIM requirements should be defined, what should be included in design and construction contracts, and why beginning digital transformation with one active project is often the most effective approach.
The event also marked the launch of the Development Digitalisation Partnership Program — a new BIM Solutions Georgia initiative that enables companies to assess their current workflows through one active or planned project, identify key risks and define a practical roadmap for implementing BIM processes and Autodesk technologies.
